this hamster totally went off the page. this is our very own knubby sniffleton as submitted by electroduck.
oh no! that hamster’s out cold. they should’ve been using a wodent wheel.
we have one and really like it. no flying hamsters.
this time i thought i would try a large graphite stick with a small drawing. the proportion of line width to drawing size is important, but i have not yet become accustomed to drawing with the implement. the whiskers were drawn with a regular sized pencil. i think i should try using more pressure.
this hamster sure seems to like broccoli!
what is that hamster looking at?
this poor cute little ham. they kind of looked like a sad puppy.
Happy Holidays!
this is my second linocut ever. i did anticipate the reverse image and reversed my sketch to compensate. however, i did not take care to transfer the graphite from the appropriate second sketch.
i felt like framing a hamster today. i love all my hamsters, but there are a few that have a special place in my heart.
WOW a value added hamster. this hamster comes with it’s own seeds… and there is shading… get it value, N-E-way, i like this one.
i am learning how to control line width, with a mechanical pencil, and it seems to be a great way to add some extra depth to these little fluff balls.
micro hamster with scale reference.
nano hamster.
i believe i have found a better way of treating the scans so the drawings have a bit more contrast while maintaining paper detail. i was worried that i would not be able to adjust all the hamsters consistently, but i think i am closer now. perhaps i will make a special ‘hamster action’ for photoshop!
my smallest hamster drawing ever, about 1/2 inch.
